Mama Cacao loves to be oxygenated, so grab your molinillo with both hands and rub them together to make it spin in circular moves. It is said that when rainbow bubbles appear, it indicates the presence of IxCacao, the Goddess of Cacao.

This molinillo has an approximate height of 23cm. It is ideal for small pots and for cooking 1-3 servings.

Juan Alonso Rodríguez is an artisan who has been making wooden molinillos for more than 55 years in Santa María Rayón, Mexico. He works with his two sons in their workshop attached to their home. Their project is Arteollin Alonso, which preserves a traditional family profession from 5 generations ago.

The techniques used are lathed, burned and carved wood. We highly recommend taking a moment to watch this video, where Juan shows us the process of making a molinillo. In it you can see that these crafts are pure art, and are created with enormous dedication and know-how.

Wash with hot water. Do not put in the dishwasher. Let it dry well before storage.
